So I'm sitting in my hotel room listening to Morcheeba and browsing the iTunes Music Store, when I notice that Todd Hollenshead - id Software's CEO - is sharing his music collection for the entire hotel to see. Hi, Todd! The man is, obviously, into rock, and has pretty good taste. In the spirit of game development, I've shared (parts of) my collection as well. So if you're staying at the W on 3rd Street, open your iTunes and feel free to peruse my music. I can recommend Maria Rita.

The W is the kind of hotel where the reception and the lobby bar have merged into one large party zone. Everything in this hotel is sort of gothic and dark and bluish, like a live-in nightclub. I sort of prefer the old-fashioned type of hotel where you can find your way to the elevator without a flashlight, but I'm in a nice suite so I shouldn't really complain. We're doing presentations in our room every day, on a pretty sweet 24" LCD with a 7.1 surround sound setup, which makes Dreamfall look and sound pretty fantastic. It's amazing what difference a good setup makes. I'm telling you now, don't play this game on anything less than a 21" screen, and make sure you've got great speakers, preferably surround. It's an audio-visual feast.

Tomorrow will be another packed day, as will Friday, and on Saturday I fly back home. Few chances, then, to take a breather, although I'm hoping there will be moments before then when I can walk over to Market and do a little shopping. I need more iTunes Music Store gift cards, a new shirt, and I'd hoped to be able to pick up a few games and DVDs. What I really need is a personal assistant.
Comments:
Sorry, Ragnar. I'm upgrading my whole PC setup for your game - but I'm not getting a new monitor ;o) 19" will just have to do.

Oh, and "nothing's right, I'm torn" - I can't decide whether to read the previews or not. Can you get someone to write a spoiler-free preview? I don't want to know yet! (I just want to guess...)

Aww, the W? I envy you, I'm stuck taking BART into the city :)

Heh. I just bought a 21" monitor from dell because my other one was hurting my eyes...I'm guessing it will do. ;)

This looks absolutely fantastic btw. I love the preview shots...its going to be hard to wait until October. (They've already got a link at Gamestop for it, but saying it won't be out till then. Rats.) I don't mind the spoilers myself as long as you don't tell the whole thing; its more tantilizing if you know just a lil bit beforehand, don't you think? Babbles on...anyways, I'm really looking forward to this. Cheers!

Hey,

Just come back from San Fran myself. Hope you had time to visit Amoeba on Haight. Best DVD store ever!

Hi. Playing TLJ again. It was some time now. I'm looking for a way to get in contact with you? I have an idea for a new game that I want to share - even if you're probably not interested... I'm quite serious though. Anyway I would very much appreciate it, if you would contact me, please? You find my email on my website, middle of left column.
Laila.

Ha en goooood påske!

god påske ;D

"Confession: "I haven't played Half-Life 2 yet. There, I said it. The shame is killing me."
I don't think I can take anyone making games seriously if they haven't played the best game in the past 5 years. If they played Doom 3 all the way through, I think they need their head examined. I guess I would rate them the same as people who don't wash themselves.

Half-Life 2 does a lot of things the best, as in there is no other game that does it better. Funcom should be aspiring to it.

On the other hand if they were, for some strange reason incapacited for a month while HL2 was released and got addicted to WoW shortly after, then I guess I could take them somewhat seriously.

Hmmmm... I'm finally glad to see that TLJ2 is coming out. TLJ was quite an adventure, nevermind that I did post some rather lengthy comments about it somewhere on the internet.:P

Hmmm...I'm still stuck on 17" CRT for now. Oh well. >_>;;

P.S. Mind if I break into your room and make off with the audio-visual system? :evil mode:
