Dreamfall will allow you to wander through beautiful, intriguing, and detailed locations, interact and converse with interesting characters, look at and examine people and objects, and explore an exciting world without a timer ticking down, enemies spawning, traps opening up below your feet, or your health running out. Old-school or not, point-and-click or not, action or not - the spirit of the adventure is alive and well in Dreamfall.

Just, you know, FYI.

[EDIT: ...but although you will often be allowed to walk around and explore the world in relative peace and quiet, there will also be times when that's not the case. Yes, there will be 'timed' (or, more appropriately, 'real-time') events, where the outcome depends on your actions or inactions, and where 'failure' is just another fork in the road. And there will be times when you have to act on your feet and fear for your life. I'm simply offering some (re)assurance that the adventure - firmly embedded in the heart and soul of this game - is very much alive and thriving.]

Hey, great, doesn't help those of us without an X Box or High end PC though.

Hehe... "feeth". One thing I've always despised in games is timed sequences. They're just annoying and ruin the atmosphere of the game. In some games they're alright, but at times it's just annoying. Cheap thriller tactic. I'm glad to know there will be no timers in Dreamfall, though I didn't expect there to be!

Sounds good.

Timed events aren't necessarily a bad thing in my opinion, as long as they're well implemented. For example, the ending for Halo 1 involved a timer and I still consider that to be one of the best final stage events I've ever seen in a game. On the other hand, the final event for TLJ tried to simulate a sense of urgency to the situation, but in the end you had all the time in the world to look around and examine objects. That's one of the few things about TLJ I actually didn't like. Why not give the players an option to disable/enable timed events? That would please both the traditional adventure gamer and gamers that like a bit more realism in their games.

A lot of adventures have deaths in them, text adventures, some point-and-click, even choose you own adventure novels. TLJ had timed sequences in it.

Adventures don't have to have pixel hunting, poor graphics, and obscure puzzles.

I'm all fer it. Lil' bit o' action didn't hurt anyone. Only some "pussyliquors". But then 'gain - its their choice ta play it or naught.

I`ve read the EDGE interview and I think that Dreamfall will be a great experience, not just an adventure, it will be emotional and meaningful just like TLJ, I honly hope it comes to south america son, otherwise IŽll have to buy it over the net

I (nearly) only play adventure games, but I'm not so purist as not to be hyped by Dreamfall.
I'll buy it because I have the feeling it'll be an adventure, despite the 'action'. Anyway, I liked to read these Ragnar's words, so that the fact of Dreamfall *being* an adventure (conservative or not) is now more explicit.
