Someone down below asked about system specifications for Dreamfall. We haven't nailed that down yet, but it's safe to say that - at maximum quality - you'll need a fast rig and, most importantly, a fairly high-end graphics card (a Radeon 9800 with 128MB does the job). Hopefully the engine will be quite scalable, but don't expect to be able to run it on an old PC. A good gaming PC today, however, ought to suffice. If you can run DOOM 3, Half-Life 2, or The Sims 2, you'll probably be all right for Dreamfall.

I just came across this little item: Pixar would consider producing a hand-drawn feature "if the story ever called for it". The statement, by Pete Docter, was apparently met with applause. And in related news, Disney is preparing to make Toy Story 3...without Pixar. Heavy sigh.
Comments:
Hey, cool, it'll be just like Toy Story and Toy Story 2, only, y'know, without the story. Or the depth of characters. Or the sheer ingenuity. Or the animation quality. And probably not with the whole original cast. But apart from that... :)

Hey, so is Dreamfall being mainly designed for the PC market? I mean, these games you mentioned were designed for PCs, so they have high demands for graphic quality and very PC-intuitive controls...

Oh, well, I'll just have to start saving for a new PC... <deep sigh>

No, actually, the one I have is close to four years old, so I suppose an upgrade is in order.

I wonder if you can be prompted into making a mac port of dreamfall now, Mr. Tornquist, considering your new powerbook.

I mean, just think about it - sleek Powerbook G4 with an FX 5200 humming as you play through the storyline with your favourite USB mouse and headphones...in the plane, or in a field..or..or..

Damn.

Yes, yes, I'll stick to ScummVM on this laptop...

Anyway, my desktop is fairly capable of running this game, I should think. You've given me a reason to keep Windows on my box for another year, Mr. Tornquist. Any chance of a Linux port, btw? That would be great - and the linux NVIDIA drivers are no joke...

Please make the game capable of scaling upwards in terms of resolution and other "stuff" so it holds up to the future, and so I can push the graphics card I'm buying just for Dreamfall to the limits :P (Decided to wait buying a new graphics card until DF was out :)

mm I can run doom 3 and the sims 2 with my lil' Geforce4MX 440, but I think I'll have to get a new one, since this one doesn't support pixel shaders :( hope that the Ati's drop the price when dreamfall comes
