The good news: I didn't have to wait long in Stockholm. The bad news: I just finished a seven hour cross-country road trip of Sweden in a cramped, crowded, and hot bus. Thus the trip from New York to Oslo - usually a pleasant jaunt at little over ten hours in total, door to door, taxi rides and all - took me more than
twenty hours. I still feel it's a miracle that I actually made it home, and while I generally respect workers' rights, I don't quite see how the air-traffic controllers can justify their actions. It's not as though
I can do anything about their situation, and making life difficult for everyone - not just those who have a say in the matter - is the cheapest form of blackmail there is.
Still, I got home safe and sound, no bones broken or luggage lost, so I can't complain. Tomorrow: back to work. I can't wait.
